Project and Research

Overview

The Directorate of Projects and Research is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, monitoring, and evaluating all projects and programs of the Authority. The Director leads the design and structure of sports development initiatives, infrastructure projects, donor-funded programs, capacity-building interventions, and strategic partnerships aimed at promoting sports development in Sierra Leone.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop project concepts, proposals, strategic plans, and implementation frameworks for sports development programs.
  • Identify funding opportunities from government, international partners, embassies, NGOs, private sector organizations, and sports federations.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies and needs assessments for sports infrastructure and community sports projects.
  • Prepare annual project work plans and budgets.
  • Supervise the implementation of all approved projects and ensure timely delivery of project objectives.
  • Coordinate with directors, sports associations, regional offices, ministries, councils, and development partners.
  • Ensure projects comply with government regulations, procurement procedures, donor requirements, and international best practices.
  • Monitor project timelines, deliverables, risks, and resource utilization.
  • Develop monitoring and evaluation systems for all NSA projects.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual project performance reports.
  • Conduct field monitoring visits and impact assessments.
  • Ensure proper documentation and data management for all programs and interventions.
